It Started With a Mother's Touch

I grew up watching my mother move through the world with effortless style and grace. She took great care in how I was dressed — not out of vanity, but out of love. The way a child is presented to the world says something tender and intentional: you matter. You are seen. You are cherished.

That feeling never left me.

A Teacher Who Noticed

Years later, as a teacher and school administrator, I watched something quietly shift in our classrooms. Little girls — even for their most special occasions — were drifting toward everyday casual wear. The art of dressing up, of feeling extraordinary for an extraordinary moment, was fading.

It stirred something in me.

So well before retirement, in the early 2000s, I took my first step: a mail-order dress boutique for girls. It was early, perhaps ahead of its time. Life had other plans — hope deferred, as they say — but the dream never died.

Three Granddaughters Later

Today, with three precious granddaughters of my own, Curtsy & Bows has found its moment. What began as a quiet passion has evolved into a fulfilling, long-held dream finally taking root. This is not just a boutique. It is a footprint of elegance and style — a love letter to every little girl who deserves to feel like the most special version of herself.
